Human to Earth

Sulphur, salt, sea air, soot and wood ash, a tiny dab of indigo. Textiles referencing textiles and human to human to Earth connection. I really don’t explain this much of the time, if and when I talk about my art anymore. After nearly 40 years of making all of this by hand, it is just there—in the way I work, the materials I use, the inspiration I seek and receive traveling through life, visiting among textile communities that have existed in the world for millennia…
